Putchong Uthayopas
Biography
Dr. Putchong Uthayopas is a Vice President for Information (CIO), Kasetsart University, Thailand where he is responsible for KU digital policy and digital strategy, digital transformation, and oversee the operation of the Office of Computing Services. Dr. Putchong is a founding chair of Digital University Forum which is a forum of CIO for Thai University (more than 20 leading universities). Currently, he also serves as a committee member in many government organizations such as Board of director, Digital Government Development Agency, Government Enterprise Architecture committee, Ministry of DE, Strategic Committee, National Innovation Agency (NIA), Strategic Committee, The Institute for Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), Board of Technology Center, Court of Justice, Research Advisory committee NECTEC, IT Committee, Thailand Science Research, and Innovation

Dr. Putchong works in high performance computing, grid, and cloud computing for more than 28 years and published more than 160 papers in Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is one of the 2 Key Opinion Leaders for Thailand participating in ASEAN HPC Task Force under the ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology. He is a recipient of the Distinguish Computer Engineer award in System Integration from the Engineering Institute of Thailand in 2012 for his contribution to Grid, HPC, and Cluster computing work. He also served as the President of the Computational Science and Engineering Association (Thailand) during 2013-2015. He was also the founding Director of the Thai National Grid Center, Ministry of Information, and Communication Technology during 2006-2008.
