Dr. Sara Royuela is a researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). She has been working at BSC for the last 10 years, first in the Programming Models department and then in the Parallel Predictable Computing department. Sara holds a PhD in Computer Architecture since 2018. She is a compiler expert, particularly in compiler analysis techniques for correctness and safety, with deep knowledge on OpenMP. She has co-led the efforts to introduce OpenMP into Ada, collaborating with research institutions (CISTER), companies (AdaCore) and organizations (OpenMP ARB and Ada ARG members). She has participated in FP7 and H2020 European Projects (ENCORE, PSOCRATES, CLASS, AMPERE), and bilateral projects with the ESA and Denso, and Airbus Defense and Space. Her main research interest now is the applicability of parallel programming models to critical real-time systems, considering specifications, compilers and runtime systems.
