Biography
Takashi Shimokawabe is currently an associate professor at Supercomputing Research Division, Information Technology Center, The University of Tokyo. His primary research interests are GPU computation of physical simulations, computational fluid dynamics, adaptive mesh refinement, high performance computing, high performance processing of astrophysical data, and integration of machine learning and physical simulations. His group was awarded the 2011 Gordon Bell Prize Special Achievements in Scalability and Time-to-Solution. He received Ph.D. in Energy Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) in 2012. He graduated with M.S. in Physics from Tokyo Tech in 2007.
