Biography
Daniele Tafani received his PhD in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University (DCU) in 2012, where he conducted research on analytic modelling and resource optimisation of optical burst switched networks. He worked at the IBM Tivoli Rome Labs as a software engineer, and was a visiting researcher at the University of Ottawa, where he developed algorithms for energy-efficient light paths in computational grids. Daniele is now a research scientist in the High-Performance Systems division of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), focusing his interests on energy efficiency of HPC systems, scalable sensor monitoring and operational data analytics.
