Biography
Michael Kuhn is a postdoctoral researcher in the Scientific Computing group at Universität Hamburg, where he also received his doctoral degree in computer science in 2015. He conducts research in the area of high performance I/O with a special focus on I/O interfaces and data reduction techniques. Other interests of his include file systems and high performance computing in general. Michael is the principal investigator of the CoSEMoS project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Moreover, he is the lead developer of the JULEA storage framework and received a 2019 R&D 100 award for his contributions to the Spack package manager. He is regularly offering courses on HPC and related topics as well as a lecture on high performance I/O.
