After obtaining her BSc Computer Science with Industrial Placement at Queens University Belfast with First Class Honors, Rachael Hagan went on to begin her PhD in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Charles J Gillan, Dr. Murali Shyamsundar and Dr. Ivor Spence. She has two years industrial experience working in Kofax as an Automation and Software Engineer on the TotalAgility product. Hagan's research currently focuses on predictive analytics in the intensive care unit. Through exploring and applying machine learning methods, predictions are made on physiological time series in order to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes.
